Innovation in Education – Interprofessional work: developing oral care and the health workforce for the future 27-28th April 2023 at the University of Brescia, Lombardy, Italy

NCUP council members, two NCUP travel award winners and the NCUP administrator contributed to the organisation of the 20th annual international education colloquium held at the University of Brescia and featured extensively in the programme. Two were invited keynote speakers. They were Professor George Kernohan, who spoke on the Hodges’ Health Care Model as a framework for quality. and Professor Kenneth Eaton, who presented an overview of the current European oral health care workforce and the Childsmile project. Professor Roger Watson presented the results of the recent NCUP’s survey of the UK professoriate. Professors Margaret Cox and Barry Quinn chaired sessions. The two NCUP travel award winners for 2023 were Dr Nathalie Axiotis, who gave a presentation on. interprofessional working and Jocelyn Barker who described integrated, holistic health care for cancer patients – don’t forget the mouth. Cheryl Humphrey, the. NCUP administrator assisted the local Brescia team to ensure the smooth running of the colloquium including networking and roundtable sessions at Hotel Laurin, Salò. Invited delegates from Austria, Canada, Croatia, Greece, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Spain and the United Kingdom were made welcome by the host Professor Corrado Paganelli and his colleagues at University of Brescia.
