Past President Professor Janet Wilson meeting HM The Queen at the Official Reception for Commonwealth Day on 14 March 2016, held at the Commonwealth Secretariat in Marlborough House. The man to her left is Geoff Davis, who had been chair of ACLALS (Association of Commonwealth Languages and Literature Association), and from 2008- 2011 Professor Wilson was chair of EACLALS (the European branch of ACLALS) and used to accompany him on these events. Sadly he passed away about 2019. (The theme for 2016 was ‘An Inclusive Commonwealth’.)
Professor Wilson was invited as ex Chair of the European Association of Commonwealth Language and Literature Studies (EACLALS). She had been invited by the Chair of the Association of the Commonwealth Language and Literature Studies (ACLALS), as we often attended Commonwealth Institute meetings at Marlborough House. |
