Travel Awards for Young Researchers in the Areas of Student Mental Health and Dental Students’ Education in Dementia

The National Conference of University Professors (NCUP) is sponsoring two travel awards, each for £200, to enable PhD students, Post-doctoral students or early career researchers to attend the 16th University of Brescia/King’s College London Annual Colloquium, which will be held at Salo, Lake Garda, Italy from 7 – 9 May 2020.

The themes for the colloquium are Student Mental Health and the Education of Dental Students in Dementia. The winners of the travel awards will be, or have recently been, involved in research in these areas and will each be required to give a 15 minute presentation on their work related to one of the conference themes.

There is no registration fee for the colloquium. The travel awards should cover travel costs but winners will have to meet their accommodation costs whilst they are in Salo.

Applications for one of the travel awards should be sent to Professor Kenneth Eaton (kenneth.a.eaton@btinternet.com), Treasurer NCUP, before 9 December 2019. They should include the name and contact details of the applicant and their involvement in research in one of the themes for the colloquium and be accompanied by an abstract, of no more than 500 words, for their proposed presentation.

Applications will be assessed by the NCUP Council and the winners will be notified before 31 December 2019 and then asked to register for the colloquium.
